drag queens

Last month, the first ever drag queen fashion show in Vietnam was held at Yang's, a.k.a. Duong's. There were 10 models wearing the fashions of Nguyen Cong Tri. My camera kind of crapped out on me, so don't have that many pictures.

It was a fabulous event though: completely over the top make-up, hair, and clothes. Everything a drag show should be :)

Hey snowtweety, out of pure, unadultured curiosity, where did this show take place?

yes... quite fabulous. Seems like a nice intimate setting as well (is that Yang's as in Yang Bar?) I never really got a feel for what the lbgt community was like in Saigon, and how it was received. deezam, there's a lot I didn't get a feel for before I left.

Thanks laxtosgn :) The show took place at a place called Duong's on 164 Pasteur Street in Ho Chi Minh City. It used to be a dance club and bar called Yang Bar as Bao pointed out. The show was quite well received by the audience. Some models and celebrities, such as singer Phuong Thanh were in the audience as well. For the most part, I think people in the entertainment industry are fine with it. I see drag queens quite often in the clubs now.
